About the project
This project was created with a workgroup created by my teacher and her academy Píldoras UX, in order to provide a service to help an entrepreneur to grow her business based on her needs and discomfort during pandemic.

The main objective is to support them so that they are more physically active by doing workouts, such as hypopressive exercises.
Objective
Create an app to support an entrepreneur from the sports sector and motivate women to be more physically active by doing workouts.

Provide a product & service to help an entrepreneur during pandemic times.

PROBLEM

Women around 40 and over, have trouble doing workouts on streaming classes & feel unmotivated to exercise by looking at a screen because they can not socialize, which is the main attribute of the business: exercise to stay active and more importantly to socialize.

DEFINE

Project details
We interviewed a stakeholder, who was an expert in workouts for women and women’s health.

Our questions were designed to find out if our hypotheses about their users and business were true, and we browsed the website to find keywords, which we divided into “users” & “services.” This activity helped build the script with key questions related to the business’ needs.

She helped us better understand her mission as a trainer and how we could meet the needs of our prospective users. The research helped us identify how we could aid our users in resolving their problems (Mujer y Deporte 40)

RESEARCH & INSIGHTS

Interviewing the stakeholder
Mónica, our real stakeholder, told us that for her it is very important to empathize & help 40-year-old women and over with topics related to sports, motivation, and dietary tips, because she observed amongst her social and professional circle that many lacked regular physical activities.

Since we did not have data from users doing interviews or surveys, I designed a proto person based on the data obtained in the interview with the stakeholder, focusing on her needs and business improvements in times of pandemic, in order to define a profile of an ideal client for her business.
“Lack of mobility and users are not comfortable with cardio exercise”
“Motivate women from 40’s and over through exercises, nutrition, socializing”
“They are not too technological & have problems connecting with zoom platform”

MVP

Main function &
utilities of the app
Before continuing with the next steps of the project, I defined the main functions and utilities of the app, which were to find outdoor activities and search talks related to exercise, nutrition and other common interests to stay in contact with people from the Social Fit community.

VALUE
PROPOSITION

Pain reliever for user
After defining the main characteristics of the application, I made the product value proposition where I could take into account the user's frustrations by finding and creating profits for the user, product and service, thus alleviating the pain points.

IDEATE &
DESIGN

Designing Social Fit
The user flow was generated, where the main tasks and the steps that the user will follow can be identified, according to their required needs, while using the application.

I created a site map to group the functionalities of the application and the different sections that can be found while using the application, search for activities and talks to create a community.

After conducting the test with users, I iterated some steps and versions of the wireframes in mid-fi; these changes allowed me to have a better vision of the user interaction process during the navigation flow before moving on to the wireframes in high-fi and prototypes.

VISUAL DESIGN

Styling Social Fit
In order to define certain elements, such as color, typography, and iconography of the app I made a benchmark and searched for some references that could fit with the product & branding.

CONCLUSIONS

Learned lessons
The design of this application was very rewarding. Firstly, we all worked as a team, contributed ideas and helped each other within the Píldoras UX. In addition, we were guided and mentored by an expert professor in the sector, which made this challenge pleasing, full of learning and new knowledge, and above all, it gave me a better understanding of the Design Thinking Process.

As a beginning point, we started an interview with the stakeholder, entrepreneur, expert in physical preparation for health, where we were able to learn about their business model.

This allowed the creation of an attractive, simple product, of easy interaction for the target audience, thus applying a pleasant and satisfactory visual design for the user.
